On Saturday, April 28th Kara will host a "FUNTASTIC FUNDRAISER" event to raise money for our crucial grief support services for the community. We will share the afternoon with a presentation by award-winning author Nancy Sharp and enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres and beverages, entertainment, raffles and games, a live auction, and a fund-a-need auction.

This year's event will feature Nancy Sharp, author of the book Both Sides Now: A True Story of Love, Loss, and Bold Living and the children’s book Because the Sky is Everywhere.  Her story is about true resilience in the wake of tragedy, loss, and grief.  On the very day that Nancy delivered premature twins, she learned that her husband's brain cancer returned after eighteen months in remission.  Less than three years later, at the age of 37, she became a widow, and needed to "hold life and death" in the same moment ~ living "Both Sides Now."  

Ann Hood, author of Comfort, The Red Thread, and The Obituary Writer  wrote this about her memoir:   "Both Sides Now is an unflinching memoir of love and loss and hope.
