Kara’s services are provided primarily by volunteers who have experience in healing from personal loss. Our volunteers are trained to accompany others on their journey through a life-threatening illness and/or bereavement. Kara has served the San Francisco Bay Area since 1976.

The Stephanie Demos Story

Here I am at Kara Camp Erin with our youngest camper.  Camp Erin is where children as young as this six-year old and teens up to seventeen, spend two-and-a-half days learning how to continue to grow and thrive after someone they love has died.  Being part of Kara's Camp Erin is an experience I will never forget -- which is why I returned again this year to the best cabin every - Maple Cabin!  Go Maple Syrup!!!

This is just one of Kara's programs that provide a safe place to mourn and an invaluable resource to the community after a crisis. 

So come out and join me on October 15 (think of it as an early birthday celebration ...)  for a FUN, FESTIVE day of celebration to help us help these programs thrive because the circle of life includes not only sorrow but joy and hope. 


By the way, everything you and I raise will fold up to Team Demos Rules! and then to Team Kara, so let's make a huge impact!!!
