Welcome to our 2023 Kara Walk'n'Run to Remember!

I am honored to create a walking team again this year and I welcome friends, family and colleagues to join and walk with me at our annual community event in Palo Alto at Mitchell Park on Saturday, October 21, 2023.

This is one of the ways as a Kara board member, I love to show my support of the agency, by raising awareness about the incredible work our Kara staff and volunteers do in service of our clients in the community. Having experienced the death of my mom at age 18, I understand how important grief support services are for children, teens and adults and I am committed to raising money to ensure those who need support can receive it at no cost to the individual or family.

My walking team is named "We Love & Remember". We invite you to come and walk with us to honor and celebrate those we love who have died. It is a special morning of community (friends and family) gathered together to walk & run, share stories and support others who are grieving a loss. This is a day of inspiration, remembrance and fun.

All monies raised will go to support Kara's services in our community to bring hope and healing to children and adults along their own grief journey.

Finally, if you can't join with me in person, I encourage you to join our team and walk virtually. Also, I would be honored to walk on your behalf and honor your person on the day of the event!

Thank you and I look forward to welcoming you to our walking team "We Love & Remember" on the morning of Saturday, October 21 at Mitchell Park in Palo Alto!

About Kara
As a nonprofit serving the San Francisco Bay Area since 1976, Kara provides comprehensive bereavement support, crisis intervention and grief education to individuals and communities facing the difficult realities of death and loss. Guided by empathy and compassion, every day we offer caring support to children and adults and provide a space where those in grief find deep relief in the company of others. Through a time-tested and highly effective peer support model, over 200 volunteers compassionately serve children and adults on their journey through grief so they can move toward renewed hope and meaning. Services are designed to be accessible and fees are not charged for our peer-based support.  We are funded primarily by charitable donations and the heartfelt generosity of the community we serve.
